We continue to add millions of new articles to our historical British Newspaper Collection every month. Since our last round-up, over 2.8 million searchable articles have been added.
The latest additions include 3 brand new titles - Cornish Times, Derbyshire Advertiser and Journal and Tadcaster Post, and General Advertiser for Grimstone.
On top of the new titles being added, we've also supplemented 37 existing newspapers with extra articles and years coverage. These include generous additions to Sevenoaks Chronicle and Kentish Advertiser (720,299), Buckingham Advertiser and Free Press (514,741) and Sunderland Daily Echo and Shipping Gazette (169,783).
The total collection now stands at over 124 million articles and 341 unique titles, covering 245 years of British history (1710-1955).
The British Newspaper Collection is the perfect resource for tracing your ancestors in their local communities around England, Scotland and Wales. You can filter your search results quickly and easily to find exactly who or what you're looking without hassle. Use the newspapers to find your relatives making headlines, advertising the family business or announcing a birth, death or marriage. For those interested in social history, the archive also makes a fantastic resource for finding out the goings-on in your locality hundreds of years ago.
